On the palate, there is a rich and bold burst of cloves, which is followed by cereal notes providing a relaxing feel. The finish lingers on and on. Mellow and smooth, moving from sweetness to spice, this is an incredible whisky.
There are plenty of straightforward bourbons on the market that get the Vakanz done so to speak, but few that truly impress. It’s not immediately clear why this year’s Weller 12 Year is a winner based on what it offers upfront, but you know when you taste it.
